Lentil Dosa

Lentil Dosa(Adai) Recipe

Ingredients


Urad dal - 1 cup
Toor dal - 3/4 cup
Moong dal - 3/4 cup
Channa dal - 3/4 cup
Rice - 2 cups
Onions - 2 medium (roughly chopped)
Oil - 2 tbsps
Salt to taste

Method

  1. Wash dal,rice together and soak overnight.
  2. Grind dal,rice and onions and make it as a smooth batter by adding little water to get it going.Now add more water until you get smooth and abit thick consistency not like normal dosa batter.Time to add slat to batter and stir well.
  3. Now heat tawa or iron griddle grease with very little oil.
  4. Now we are making a sample dosa for that take very small amount of dosa batter with a ladle and pour it in the center and spread it around and make thick small dosa.And fry it on both sides and clean the tawa with this small dosa around and put it aside.
  5. Now take enough batter with the ladle and spread it around evenly and fry it until golden color ,now flap it to another side and fry it for just 2 secs and fold into half and now dosa is ready.
  6. now drop a 2 drops of oil on center of tawa and clean it around with the sample dosa and repeat the step 5 to make dosa. 
  7. You can make around 15 dosas 
  8. Serve hot with allam chutney,tomato chutney or coconut chutney.


Tips

  • This is with lentils and You can see the amount of oil i used here,thats why i called it healthy.
  • You can also add chopped(ginger,green chillies) to the batter.
  • Kids can start a day with the amazing,tasty and protein rich dosas as a breakfast.
